Drive April 2008
April
4th through April 25th, Oregon Food Bank will provide
barrels in the lobbies of Lloyd Center Tower, ODS Tower,
Liberty Centre, One Pacific Square and Lloyd 700 Building
to collect food for the Oregon Food Bank. The Food Bank
urgently needs nutritious food donations.
WHO
IS HUNGRY?
The Oregon Food Bank Network distributed
752,044 emergency food boxes in Oregon and Clark
County, Wash., between July 1, 2006, and June 30,
2007.
In
addition, 176 soup kitchens and shelters provided 4
million emergency meals and 378 other agencies helped
more than 88,000 people.
Those
most likely to need emergency food are children, working
families, the elderly, the retired, the disabled. They
are your neighbors, and they need your help.
Oregon
Food Bank needs these nutritious foods most:
- canned
meats (i.e., tuna, chicken, salmon)
- canned
and boxed meals (i.e., soup, chili, stew, macaroni
and cheese)
- peanut
butter
- canned
or dried beans and peas (i.e., black, pinto, lentils)
- pasta,
rice, cereal
- canned
fruits
- 100
percent fruit juice (canned, plastic or boxed).
To
ensure food safety, Oregon Food Bank cannot use:
- rusty
or unlabeled cans
- perishable
items
- homemade
items
- noncommercial
canned or packaged items
- alcoholic
beverages, mixes or soda
- open
or used items

NOTE: If you donate glass products, please
box or bag them separately and label the box or bag "GLASS" on
all sides.
